Rovio has just launched its latest game in its long running Angry Birds physics-themed puzzle series for Android devices, via the Google Play Store, along with the Amazon Appstore for Kindle devices and the Nook tablets. Samsung announces ruggedized Galaxy Tab Active with dust and water resistance

IFA 2014 At the IFA in Berlin, Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab Active, a ruggedized 8-inch tablet that can withstand a 1.2-meter fall thanks to its protective coating. Certified IP67, the tablet is dust and water resistant and comes with a tougher version of the S Pen stylus, called the C Pen, that provides an alternate form of input for when you’re wearing gloves.

Sony Xperia Z3 and its smaller sibling have their pricing confirmed for the UK

Sony took to IFAyesterday to announce the new Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact. The new smartphones have been priced in the UK at retailer Clove and while they’re sat on a premium price point, the user experience is set to be butter smooth thanks to included components. The Xperia Z3 will set you back £520 and the Xperia Z3 Compact is currently offered for £432.

Qualcomm’s AllPlay platform gains Spotify support

Qualcomm has signed new hardware and software partners for its AllPlay media streaming platform as the vendor looks to realize its vision of universal media streaming. Qualcomm announced that AllPlay is now certified with Spotify Connect, which means that you can now stream Spotify over Wi-Fi using an AllPlay-compatible device to several speakers in the home. AllPlay already supports other streaming services such as iHeartRadio, Napster, and Rhapsody.

Ustwo Games, the developers behind Monument Valley, have announced a new game for the Samsung Gear VR headset. Called Land’s End, it’s described as a “surreal trip throughan archipelago of forgotten worlds”.
