Droid 4 breaks cover ahead of a December 8th launch


On December 8th, just a hair over five months after Verizon and Motorola introduced us to the Droid 3, they are going to be back at it with the aptly named Droid 4. This time around they are delivering both LTE and a dual-core processor to the keyboard slider loving masses on Verizon.

Verizon’s online advertising points to $199 on-contract Galaxy Nexus, still no date

If you’re into loading custom ROMs on your rooted Android device, I’m pretty sure you’ve been keeping a close eye on the development community, hoping to get an Android 4.0 build for your phone up and running as soon as possible. We’ve already seen a few Android phones get early AOSP ports over the past week, but none of us expected to see Ice Cream Sandwich running on the T-Mobile G1.

T-Mobile Vivacity launches in the UK

T-Mobile Vivacity

T-Mobile UK today announced the launch of the launch of a mid-end Android smartphone, the Vivacity. It’s got a 3.5-inch display at WVGA resolution, a 5-megapixel camera, Wifi, GPS and all that jazz. It’s going for just £10 per month on a 24-month plan, or for £99 on Pay As You Go.

That didn’t take long. The ASUS Transformer Prime is temporarily sold out after being on pre-order for just a single day. Now when customers visit the Amazon Transformer Prime product page they are greeted with a message that says “Sign up to be notified when this item becomes available.”

AT&T withdraws FCC application to acquire T-Mobile, takes new tactic to get government approval

T-Mobile fans upset about AT&T’s proposed acquisition of the magenta network have another reason to be thankful now that the deal has hit a major roadblock. Following the FCC indicating that it would seek a review of the application in courts, AT&T has withdrawn its application without prejudice.

That does not mean AT&T’s planned acquisition of T-Mobile USA is over.
