Samsung launches the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2016 in South Korea

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2016 in its home market, with the tablet available in Wi-Fi and LTE-enabled variants. The Wi-Fi-only model will retail for 359,000 won ($ 310), whereas the LTE version will debut at 399,000 won ($ 345). The tablet will make its way to Europe, where the Wi-Fi model will sell for €289 and the LTE variant for €349.

LG G Pad X 10.1 on AT&T now receiving the Marshmallow update

AT&T’s LG G Pad X 10.1 has started receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The OTA update — coming in at 869MB — increments the kernel version to 3.4.0, the build number to MRA58K, and the software version to V93020f.

Marshmallow is in use on 10.1% of all Android devices

Android 6.0 Marshmallow reached a new milestone, as it crossed the 10% line in Google’s latest distribution numbers for the operating system.

Google’s data shows that Marshmallow actually claimed 10.1% of all Android installs, based on data collected on June 6. The previous Android version, Lollipop, went down slightly from 35.6% in May to 35.4%, but it is still the version of Android with the most installs.

Samsung has announced the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 for Europe and should have the new tablet available for purchase next month. Set to arrive in both black and white variants, this latest device from Samsung will set you back €289 ($ 330) for the base Wi-Fi-only model. LG G Pad X 10.1 coming to AT&T on September 4, DIRECTV in tow

LG G Pad II 10.1 unveiled ahead of IFA

Usually, manufacturers unveil a device at the showroom, but LG has gone ahead and given us a sneak peek at what their newest tablet, the G Pad 10.1 II has to offer.

Featuring a quad-core 2.26 GHz Snapdragon 800 with 2GB of RAM, the device has a large 7,400 mAh battery which should keep the light on for a while. The 1920 x 1200 screen is, as the name of it indicates, 10.1 inches across which results in a PPI of 224.

Verizon pushing Android 5.1.1 and Stagefright fixes to Galaxy S6, S6 edge, Tab 4 10.1

Verizon has started pushing out an update to the Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, and Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, bringing Android 5.1.1 along with fixes for the Stagefright exploit.

Alongside patching up the Stagefright exploit, the update to Android 5.1.1 brings along a switch for the parallax wallpaper effect, a new camera quick exposure setting, caller ID for Advanced Calling, and added Chinese language support.
