Google also cracked down on spyware apps.

Once a year for the last five years, Google releases something called the “Android Security & Privacy Year In Review” — essentially a look back at the past year and the overall state of security for Android as a whole.

This year’s report covers a lot of ground, but one number that stands out the most is the increase in security patch downloads. In Q4 2018, Google reports a year-over-year  [Read More…]

Huawei posts record $107 billion in revenue for 2018

Huawei’s U.S. troubles haven’t affected its bottom line in any meaningful way.

Overall revenue was up 19.5% from 2017, and Huawei  [Read More…]

Looks like that T-Mobile partnership went pretty well.

Kevin McCallister is home alone… again. A new ad campaign from Google imagines what life would be like if Macaulay Culkin had to defend his home in 2018, but now with help from Google Home.

The ad features the actor revisiting some of the more memorable scenes from the 1990 film; the attention to detail for the set is really awesome, by the way.

Now, instead of freaking out over how he’d defend the house, McCallister relies on Google for  [Read More…]
