Amazon Appstore 2

Amazon’s Appstore for Android has received an update, just in time for the Kindle Fire’s release next week.

The update, which brings the app to version 2.0, is largely focused on UI improvements. The look and feel of the entire Appstore experience has shifted as the white backdrops that used to be ubiquitous have been changed to shades of gray.

Barnes & Noble Nook Color

Barnes & Noble might be waiting for Monday to drop the Nook Color to $ 199 as the Nook Tablet takes over, but Best Buy’s coming out of the gate first, already shaving $ 50 off the popular 7-inch e-reader. No word on whether it’ll drop the Nook Simple Touch to $ 99 as well.

What percentage of Android devices are powered by Intel? Google partnered with Intel on the first generation of Google TV devices, but we all know how that turned out. If you look at the smartphones and tablets of today, I would guess Intel has around zero percent market share. Intel thinks 2012 will be the year that changes, but we have been hearing that story for the last two years at CES.
