Amazon Echo devices can now make free calls in North America

All Amazon Echo devices can now make free calls to the US, Canada, and Mexico without any additional hardware.

Amazon has been adding a steady stream of features to its Echo device family dating back to the release of the first Echo back in 2014. In May, the company announced the ability for Echo owners to make free calls to any Alexa-enabled device, including smartphones with the Alexa app. Now, Amazon is expanding that even further.

Samsung may bring its fancy 6GB Galaxy S8 to North America

The higher-storage Galaxy S8 may come to North America!

While Samsung’s native Korea tends to keep its special edition Galaxys to itself, the company is keeping open the possibility that its impressive 6GB/128GB model of the Galaxy S8 will be available in other countries.

According to Yonhap News, Samsung is mulling the idea of bringing the configuration to other markets.

Comcast, ‘the worst company in America’, just launched cellular service

Comcast is launching cellular service through its Xfinity subbrand in partnership with Verizon.

Comcast, the enormous cable, internet and content creation behemoth, just launched cellular service despite owning no actual wireless spectrum.

The company, which owns NBCUniversal along with its massive Comcast Cable division, will offer 4G LTE service under the Xfinity Mobile brand, in partnership with Verizon, which powers the actual cellular part of the proposition. T-Mobile extends free high-speed roaming in Europe and South America until end of 2016

T-Mobile extends roaming privileges until the end of 2016.

T-Mobile always finds a way to put itself in the news. The company has announced that it will be extending free high-speed roaming to postpaid customers until the end of 2016. The original plan was supposed to expire at the end of September.

Niantic Labs has now expanded the reach of its hit augmented reality game Pokémon Go to the countries of Central and South America.

Bank of America is bringing Android Pay support to 5,000 ATMs this year

Bank of America joined in on the Google I/O fray today, announcing it plans to support Android Pay at 5,000 of its cardless ATMs by the end of year. To kick things off, Bank of America says that it plans to begin that rollout starting with 2,400 ATMs this month.
