Google Cloud Platform to power Spotify’s streaming backend

In a win for Google’s cloud business prospects, Spotify has announced that it will be migrating its backend infrastructure to the Google Cloud Platform. Historically, Spotify has powered its music streaming service through buying or leasing its own server hardware and data center space. Google updates back-end in light of Heartbleed vulnerability

If you’ve been online at some point in the last 36 hours, chances are you’ve heard of ‘Heartbleed‘, a flaw in OpenSSL that has exposed data to theft on approximately 2/3 of servers in use around the globe over the past two years.
