ZTE banned from using U.S.-based hardware or software in its products

In other words, ZTE’s smartphone business in the United States may be coming to an end.

The United States government has been heavily targeting China-based technology companies throughout all of 2018, and the latest move from the Department of Commerce is a particularly large blow against ZTE. On April 16, Secretary of Commerce Wilbur L. Ross, Jr. issued a Denial Order against the company that essentially kills its smartphone business in the U.S.

Kaspersky software banned at U.S. federal agencies amid concerns of Kremlin ties

U.S. federal agencies have been directed to stop using Kaspersky software by the Department of Homeland Security.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has directed federal agencies to end their use of Kaspersky software amid concerns over the company’s ties to the Russian government, The Washington Post reports. OnePlus One banned in India after infringing on Micromax’s agreement with Cyanogen

After Xiaomi, it is now the turn of the OnePlus One to face the ire of the Indian authorities, as local vendor Micromax was able to secure an injunction from the Delhi High Court that bans all sales and advertising of the device in India. Moto X and G get banned in Germany

A ruling made at the Mannheim Regional Court in Germany on July 8th found Motorola to infringe on a patent held by LPKF – a German engineering firm – in reference to the antenna design used in the companies Moto X and Moto G devices.
