Samsung recently released an update to the Bixby Home app adding one of the most requested features to its phones. Instantly, the once otherwise useless Bixby button on your phone gained the ability to open something other than the Bixby digital assistant.

Turns out you can remap the Bixby button to open Google Assistant

How to remap the Bixby button on your Galaxy Phone to launch any app

It’s been two years since Samsung debuted Bixby, and the dreaded Bixby button, alongside the Galaxy S8, and the company has taken until now, 2019, to provide a way to remap it.

While the feature is only currently available on the Galaxy S10, it will be backported to the S8, Note 8, S9 and Note 9 in a software update.

Bixby is now open to developers through the Bixby Developer Studio

Alexa-like skills will be offered through the Bixby Marketplace.
