Metro by T-Mobile to be the first prepaid brand to offer 5G service in 2019

Recently, T-Mobile announced it was rebranding its prepaid brand MetroPCS to Metro by T-Mobile and also introduced new plans. The Magenta carrier touted the change as a way to eliminate the distinction between prepaid and postpaid service.

TCL is reviving the Palm brand with an Android phone that’s launching on Verizon

Get ready for a Palm-branded device running Android.

Back in 2015, Chinese manufacturer TCL acquired the rights to Palm from HP, vowing the revive the brand with a slate of new phones. Late last year, a TCL executive revealed to a Dutch publication that Palm devices manufacturered by the Chinese company will be making their debut in 2018.

Xiaomi overtakes Samsung to become the largest smartphone brand in India

Xiaomi ends Samsung’s six-year dominance in India.

Xiaomi tied with Samsung for the top spot in India’s handset segment late last year, and with the momentum strongly in favor of the Chinese manufacturer, it was only a matter of time before it overtook Samsung. That day has arrived, as Xiaomi is now claiming that it is the largest smartphone brand in India on the back of Q4 sales.
