Oppo’s two latest Android phones were cheating on processor benchmarks

The Find X and F7 are the latest Android phones to juke the stats.

OnePlus 5 accused of cheating in benchmarks, Carl Pei responds

XDA accuses OnePlus 5 of manipulating benchmark scores to gain a 5% performance boost.

Earlier this year, the folks at XDA Developers found that the OnePlus 3T and Meizu Pro 6 Plus were cheating at benchmarks, activating a “performance” mode as soon as a bnechmark test was initialized to eke out a favorable score on testing apps like GeekBench.

Cheating at Android games? Your scores can now automatically be squelched

Google today gave word that developers can now use automatic leaderboard tamper protection “to automatically hide suspicious leaderboard scores.” That’ll keep cheaters from seeing their scores shoot to the top faster than they should. (Though obviously my Sky Force 2014 process is legit among my small circle of friends.)
