Here’s what went down at Sundar Pichai’s long-awaited testimony.

Following the likes of Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey, it was Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s turn to testify in front on Congress on December 11, 2018. Pichai was called into Congress to comment on a variety of subjects, including the company’s political bias with search results, data collected by Android devices, and much more.

2018 has not been kind to Chinese OEM’s such as Huawei and ZTE. Huawei was ready to launch a new device with carrier partnerships. Then, pressure from the US Government pushed those carriers to back out of deals

On the ZTE front, the company was temporarily banned from selling its handsets in the US. A recent partnership has seen ZTE pay a $ 1 billion fine, while also replacing its entire Board of Directors.

Xiaomi isn’t attending Mobile World Congress this year

Don’t hold out for new Xiaomi phones at MWC.

Xiaomi unveiled the Mi 5 at last year’s Mobile World Congress, but the company won’t be announcing a new device this time around. In a statement to TechCrunch, a Xiaomi spokesperson said that the company will skip this year’s event.
