Essential Phone 2 reportedly canceled, Andy Rubin considering selling the company [Update]

More than $ 100 million was used to develop Essential’s first products.

HTC unsurprisingly considering strategic investments, spin-offs amidst lengthy financial struggles

We already know HTC’s finances aren’t great.

Despite recent successes with Vive and more recently the much-loved U11, HTC is still facing financial difficulties as its revenues have continued to fall for several years. According to sources of Bloomberg, HTC has reached the point of considering strategic business changes including sales or spin-offs of portions of the company.

Razer may be considering building a phone for gamers

Razer is no stranger to smartphones, having bought Nextbit earlier this year. Now reports are saying the company might be building a phone specifically for gamers.

The company already has mobile apps for its services like Cortex as well as a wearable device, so a phone isn’t a stretch. We don’t know if it would be under the Razer or Nextbit name, but the focus on gamers hints at the former.
