Huawei charged with fraud and obstruction by U.S. Department of Justice

Multiple counts of bank and wire fraud, obstruction of justice, and theft of trade secrets brought against the company and its CFO.

The U.S. Justice Department has announced that Huawei Telecom, the company’s Chief Financial Officer Meng Wanzhou, and two unnamed affiliates have been charged with bank and wire fraud in order to violate trade sanctions against the country of Iran today. The U.S. Justice Department is appealing the AT&T and Time Warner deal

Not even a month after AT&T purchased Time Warner for $ 85 billion, the U.S. Justice Department is now appealing the deal.

A court document was filed on Thursday, July 12, confirming the news. The appeal is being led by District Court Judge Richard Leon.

Per CNBC, Leon noted in his 200-page appeal filing that “the government failed to meet its burden to establish that the deal would significantly decrease competition.”

Eric Schmidt tapped to head up Defense Department ‘Innovation Advisory Board’

US Department of Defense gives approval to Samsung Knox devices

Samsung has announced that five of its Galaxy devices have been approved for the U.S government’s Defense Information System Agency (DISA) products list. The devices include the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy Note 3, the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. All of them are using Android 4.4 (KitKat) along with Samsung’s KNOX secure workspace platform, which includes system-level encryption for enterprise-based apps.

Not so fast, AT&T! U.S. Justice Department sues to block T-Mobile merger.

The United States Justice Department has officially come out against AT&T’s proposed acquisition of T-Mobile’s USA unit. Citing concerns about a lack of competition that would result from the merger, the Justice Department has filed a lawsuit seeking a court order to block the deal from taking place.
