Nougat makes steady gains in August distribution numbers, but so does Marshmallow

Nougat is gaining momentum, but the going is slow.

The latest Android distribution numbers put Nougat adoption — including both 7.0 and 7.1 — at 13.5%, an increase of 2% from a month prior. Android 7.0 Nougat is installed on 12.3% of active Android devices, while 7.1 accounts for 1.2%.

Nougat usage nearly in double digits in latest Android platform distribution report

Google’s latest Android platform distribution numbers are in, and they’re just about what you’d expect.

The June 2017 Android distribution stats reveal which versions of Android were used to access the Play Store during the seven-day period ending on June 5. During this time, Android Nougat (7.0 and 7.1) was present on 9.5 percent of devices, which is up from the 7.1 percent of devices that it was on last month.

Marshmallow continues to gain ground in Google’s May 2016 Android distribution report

Another month, another look at how Android’s many platforms are doing out there in the real world. Google has issued another monthly update that shows yet another strong month for Marshmallow.

According to Google, 7.5% of Android devices that accessed the Play Store during the seven-day period ending on May 2 were running Android 6.0. Compare that to the numbers from April, when Marshmallow was on 4.6% of devices.

Marshmallow’s share jumps to 7.5% in latest Android distribution numbers

Google has released its latest update to the distribution numbers for each version of Android, with data that was collected on May 2. According to the latest numbers, Marshmallow‘s share saw a notable jump up from 4.6% in April to 7.5% in May.

Google’s data shows the previous Android version, Lollipop, went down slightly from 35.8% in April to 35.6% in May, but it remains as the version of Android with the most installs.

Marshmallow’s share doubles to 4.6% in latest Android distribution numbers

Google has released its latest update to the distribution numbers for each version of Android, with data that was collected on April 4. The latest version, Marshmallow, doubled its share compared to March, up from 2.3% to 4.6%.

Google updates Distribution Agreement, gives devs 3 days to respond to inquiries

Google today announced changes to the Developer Distribution Agreement that should make things a little easier on us, the paying customer.

Three things of note:

Developers who offer paid applications or in-app purchases will have three business days to respond to customer support inquiries, or 24 hours if it’s something “stated to be urgent by Google.” Contact info must also be correct, and Google now has more leeway to pull apps that are deemed security risks.  [Read More…]
