Chapters on chapters.

Amazon has its Kindle Paperwhite on sale for only $ 79.99 right now. This deal is valid only for Prime members, so click here if you need a free trial. Usually this would run you $ 120, and the reviews are stellar. As an alternative, you could get the Kindle for $ 50, but that model lacks a backlight and it doesn’t have as good of a battery life either.

If you’ve ever gone camping or hiking and found yourself “off of the grid” for a period of time, you likely know how refreshing it is. No phone, no Facebook, no Reddit, no text messages. On the other hand, it can be somewhat scary to be away from society for any length of time. What happens if you get lost or separated from your party?

Whether you’re in the bottom of a canyon or three miles deep into the woods,  [Read More…]

Want to sell your phone? Here’s what to do during and after the sale

The Samsung Galaxy S9, LG G7 ThinQ, HTC U12+, and OnePlus 6 are all beautiful new devices that tempt customers to open up their wallets. Rightfully so — they’re all great! But if this is a replacement or upgrade, you’ll likely have to figure out what to so with the current one.

What to do? Throw it in a drawer? Make it a Wi-Fi only phone? Give it to the kids? Or, do you sell your phone?

The beta will come out in early May.

After plenty of speculation, Android P is finally here – well, sort of. The first developer preview was officially released on March 7, 2018, and while it’s still incredibly buggy and unstable, gives us an early look at what we can expect for the software’s final release. Google Phone v17 introduces chat heads feature during calls

Good artists copy, great artists steal.

As much as I loathe Facebook Messenger, one of the app’s best features is Chat Heads. The ability to quickly open and hide conversations in a small bubble that lives on your home screen is extremely convenient, and the latest v17 update for the Google Phone adds its own take on this.

After downloading the new update, leaving the Google Phone app during an ongoing call will result in a “chat  [Read More…]

T-Mobile offers free data and calls in South Korea during the 2018 Olympics

Starting February 7 and going through March 20.

The 2018 Winter Games are just around the corner, and while I’ll personally be watching from the couch in my living room, there are a lot of folks that’ll make the trek to South Korea to watch in person. An international data plan is typically required to stay connected whenever traveling aboard, but T-Mobile is giving its customers free unlimited data and calling during the entire competition.

Google sold about 6 million Home speakers during the holidays

More than one Google Home was sold every second.

This past holiday season, there’s a good chance you either bought or received a smart speaker of some sort. Amazon’s been dominating this space since the first Echo Dot came out in 2016, but with the launch of the Google Home Mini in late 2017, Google finally had its own ultra-cheap speaker to get inside as many people’s homes as possible.

Google recently shared a post on its  [Read More…]

Amazon sold ‘tens of millions’ of Alexa-enabled devices during the holidays

We saw lots of deals on the Amazon Echo during the past month or so, and it looks like all of those special offers paid off.
