AT&T reports Q3 2015 earnings: $39.1 billion in revenue, adds 2.5 million wireless customers

AT&T has reported its earnings for the third quarter of 2015, noting quite a bump in revenues due mostly to the acquisition of DirecTV. In all, consolidated revenues totaled $ 39.1 billion, which is up 19 percent over the same period last year.

BlackBerry confirms Priv in earnings report

BlackBerry this week confirmed it will release an Android-powered sliding smartphone under the name of Priv. The long rumored and ballyhooed device was mentioned as part of the company’s most recent earnings report.

Due by the “end of the calendar year”, the handset is expected to offer top-notch security and privacy as well as all the of standard benefits of Android.

Lenovo discloses plans to rely on Motorola’s smartphone expertise in quarterly earnings report

Lenovo has disclosed its earnings for the first quarter of fiscal year 2015-2016, showing a three-percent bump in revenue at $ 10.7 billion, but a disappointing 51 percent decrease in net income at just $ 105 million.

Samsung’s Q2 2015 earnings point to slight bump in mobile revenue

Samsung has disclosed its earnings for the second quarter of 2015, reporting an operating profit of $ 5.9 billion (KRW 6.9 trillion) on total revenues of $ 41 billion (KRW 48.54 trillion). This lines up with what Samsung forecasted, showing a drop in operating profits from $ 6.17 billion (KRW 7.19 trillion) year-over-year.

AT&T reports Q2 2015 earnings: $33 billion in revenue, adds 2.1 million wireless customers

AT&T has reported its earnings for the second quarter of 2015 today, showing a slight bump in revenue over the same period a year ago. In all, second quarter revenue clocked in at $ 33 billion, which is up 1.4 percent when compared to the same period a year ago. Additionally, earnings per share were 58 cents — down from 68 cents a year ago.

Verizon reports increased earnings for Q2 2015, welcoming 1.1 million new customers

Verizon has published its earnings report for Q2 2015. The US carrier performed rather well in the second quarter of this year, pulling in $ 32.2 billion of revenue. The company continues to struggle against competition to retain customers, but did manage to see its churn rate drop to just 0.90% – the lowest in three years.

Google announces Q2 2015 earnings: $17.7 billion revenue, $3.93 billion net income

Google has just announced its Q2 2015 earnings, showing strong growth in revenues and net income for the quarter compared to last year. Total revenues for the quarter were $ 17.7 billion, up from $ 15.9 billion in 2014, and net income was $ 3.93 billion, up from $ 3.35 billion. Those numbers are strong despite heavy currency fluctuations, which dropped revenues by an estimated $ 1.1 billion.

Samsung fails to meet expectations in Q2 2015 earnings guidance, supply shortages to blame

In its Q2 earnings guidance, Samsung has shared that its quarterly profits may not be as robust as Q2 2014, with the South Korean manufacturer predicting a decrease of 4 percent from the same period a year ago. Samsung is predicting an operating profit of KRW 6.9 trillion ($ 6.1 billion) with an overall revenue of KRW 48 trillion ($ 42.5 billion), down 8.4 percent when compared to Q2 2014.

HTC’s Q2 preliminary earnings show the company returning to the red

HTC isn’t quite out of the water yet. The company has released its preliminary report for Q2, revealing a loss-making quarter. HTC has predicted the Taiwanese company will close Q2 with an operating loss of NT$ 5.14 billion ($ 166 million), making it yet another negative quarter for the struggling mobile handset maker.

Samsung reports an increase in smartphone sales in Q1 2015 earnings

Samsung has disclosed its earnings for the first quarter of 2015 today, reporting an decrease in revenue and slight increase in operating profit over the previous quarter.

Overall, Samsung brought in an operating profit of $ 5.63 billion (KRW 5.98 trillion) on revenues of $ 44 billion (KRW 47.12 trillion). These numbers largely line up with the company’s guidance released earlier this month, marking a drop in operating profits from $ 7.8 billion (KRW 8.49 trillion)  [Read More…]
