LeEco slashes over 75% of its Indian workforce, denies claims of exit

LeEco’s woes continue in India.

LeEco announced at the end of last year that it would downsize its operations in all markets, and the company has followed through on its word today by letting go of over 75% of its Indian workforce. In a statement to Gadgets360, LeEco said that it reduced its headcount from 350 to just over 80, with the company calling the team size “in line with industry benchmarks.”

Jawbone says it has no plans to exit the fitness wearables business

Jawbone has issued a statement claiming that recent reports stating it is exiting its fitness wearable business are “false”.

Late on Friday, TechInsider claimed that Jawbone was stopping production of its UP fitness devices and selling off its remaining inventory to a third party. In a statement sent to Engadget, Jawbone said:

Nexus Player makes its exit from the Google Store

Google is no longer directly selling the Nexus Player, its premiere Android TV set-top box that launched alongside Google’s second (and more successful) attempt at entering the living room.

Nexus 9 makes its exit from the Google Store

The HTC-built Nexus 9 tablet is no longer available from the Google Store. The 8.9-inch tablet, which originally launched in October 2014, has been replaced by Google’s Pixel C as the flagship Android tablet.

Of course, if you really want the Nexus 9, a number of other retailers are still carrying the tablet. HTC is still offering it, while you can also grab it from Amazon for $ 320 for the 16GB version.

Sony Mobile CEO: We will never ever sell or exit from the mobile business
