Sonos files to go public, expected to make $1 billion in revenue in 2018

The company plans on raising as much as $ 100 million for its IPO.

On Friday morning, July 6, Sonos officially filed to become a publically traded company.

Sonos will be traded on Nasdaq as SONO and plans on raising as much as $ 100 million leading up to its IPO (initial public offering). However, as noted by MarketWatch, “that amount was estimated as a placeholder amount.”

Xiaomi expected to go public with $10 billion IPO

If true, this will be 2018’s largest IPO to-date.

Depending on where you live, Xiaomi is either huge in your country or hardly known at all. The 8-year-old company is currently the fifth largest smartphone brand in the world, and according to people familiar with the matter, is expected to go public with an Initial Public Offering (IPO) of 10 billion USD.

Google expected to buy HTC phone division, trading halted ahead of news

HTC will be making a major announcement in the coming days.

Taiwanese media reported earlier this month that HTC was in the “final stage of negotiation with Google” for selling off its smartphone business, and it looks like things are coming to a head. Bloomberg says that HTC will halt trading its shares tomorrow “pending a major announcement,” which will be Google’s purchase of HTC’s phone business.

EU’s antitrust regulators expected to set a record fine for Google this week

European Union’s ruling may change the way Google displays its advertisements across the web.

Google has been in a long legal battle in the European Union over its Adsense for Search platform. The “statements of objections” were initially filed last year over Google’s practice of having an unfair advantage in the ad wars by preventing third-party websites and platforms from showing competitor’s ads. Now, the EU’s antitrust regulators are ready to settle on a penalty for the search company.
