If you’re on the market for a premium phone, there are multiple options available on the market right now and you don’t even have to spend all your savings.

Instead of buying a Samsung Galaxy S9 or Pixel 3, consider maybe getting an affordable flagship. You’ll still get your top-notch specs and premium design, but the price in this case is much more wallet-friendly.

Perhaps the most notable player in this niche is OnePlus. The company recently released a new  [Read More…]

OnePlus built its entire business on value. That strategy paid dividends for the brand over the years, but Xiaomi sub-brand POCO is now looking to use that same formula to steal market share in the affordable flagship segment.

The Razer Phone 2 is now official and all about flagship gaming

In case you missed it the Razer Phone 2 has been teased in some leaks the past few weeks. However, the wait is now over as Razer took the stage tonight to release the Razer Phone 2.

Google Pixel 2 XL, one year later review: The most consistent flagship

A year old, and a year better.

The Pixel 2 phones were announced close to a year ago, with few substantial changes from the 2016 Pixels. Despite some early teething issues with the Pixel 2 XL’s screen, the phones have proven to be solid choices for anyone buying a phone in most of 2018. But competition hasn’t stood still in the last year, and we’re close to seeing the Pixel 3. How well have the phones stood  [Read More…]

Honor 10 review: a compelling option in the affordable flagship niche

Putting the words “affordable” and “flagship” used to feel like an oxymoron in the recent past. But not anymore, as more and more manufacturers have reached a point where they have achieved a great balance between specs and price.

OnePlus has been spearheading these efforts with its line of premium, yet still affordable products that have, over the years, become an icon of budget excellence. And other Android manufacturers have been quick to jump on board the trend and offer  [Read More…]

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S review: the best under-the-radar flagship around

We got our hands on a Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S a while back, and for the past month or so I’ve been using it as my daily driver. It released back in April for about $ 530, which puts it in a similar category to OnePlus’ signature price point.

What follows is my full review of the Chinese-made flagship killer, largely unfiltered and completely candid.

Sennheiser IE 800 S Flagship In-Ear Headphones Review – Small Upgrade, A Lot of Dough

It’s been a couple years since we’ve looked at the best from Sennheiser with regard to in-ear headphones. The petite IE 800 were an original take on a high-end earphone, deviating from the current trend over-the-ear design and multi-driver configurations. It was surely understated, but the attention to detail is what set it apart, from the elegant, ceramic casing to the super crisp sound.

Well, it’s about that time for a successor, and Sennheiser has debuted it in the form  [Read More…]

OnePlus just surpassed Samsung’s flagship phone sales in India for the first time

Counterpoint Research shows Samsung’s drop-off was steep and poorly timed.

Here’s something we didn’t see coming: OnePlus just sold more high-end phones than Samsung in India. According to Counterpoint Research, OnePlus was the top-selling manufacturer in the flagship segment (₹30,000+, or $ 435+) in India for Q2 2018, hitting an all-time high of 40% market share. Adding to the surprise is that this is data for the entire quarter (April, May, June) where the OnePlus 6 was  [Read More…]
