Google announces Android is getting on board with foldable displays

Samsung’s upcoming foldable smartphone was finally revealed during its Developer Conference yesterday.

Well soon afterwards, Google also issued a press statement to announce that Android has added native platform support for a new class of devices called “foldables”. Actually, Samsung and Google have been working together when creating the new One UI for Samsung’s phones. So it’s no surprise Google is adding support to this novel form factor.

Samsung shows off its foldable smartphone with Infinity Flex Display

Samsung has been working on its foldable smartphone for years now, and today the tech giant finally showed off the fruits of its labor for the whole world to see.

World’s first foldable smartphone just launched, but it’s not made by Samsung or Huawei

While we’re still waiting for Samsung or Huawei to launch a foldable smartphone, it seems an obscure company has managed to beat the two iconic brands to the punch.

The Royole Corporation, a start-up based in California has announced the first commercially available foldable smartphone, the Royole FlexPai.

Samsung Galaxy X foldable smartphone to launch in November, says Samsung’s mobile chief

Remember Samsung’s foldable smartphone that has been rumored forever? Well according to the company’s mobile division CEO DJ Koh, who recently talked to CNBC, the device will finally make a debut during Samsung’s Developer Conference. The event is scheduled to take place between November 7 and 8 in San Francisco.

Samsung posts record profits in Q4 2017, foldable Galaxy X phone set to launch this year

Samsung is looking to differentiate its smartphones by launching a foldable phone this year.

Samsung may be facing a lot of internal crisis that led to the chaebol replacing all of its current CEOs last quarter, but it certainly isn’t affecting the company’s performance. The South Korean manufacturer posted its Q4 2017 results, and once again things are looking great.
