Hurricane Irene pushes Samsung’s U.S. Galaxy S II event to Tuesday

Just a quick heads up that Samsung has pushed its U.S. Galaxy S II event to Tuesday evening. Originally scheduled for Monday, Hurricane Irene’s little jaunt up the coast made the move necessary (and thanks to Samsung for doing so).

Samsung’s Unpacked App Reveals Tab 7.7 and Galaxy Note

Samsung has unwittingly revealed 3 new devices that it plans to announce at IFA next week. These were discovered when one Android fan went poking around the APK of Samsung’s Unpacked app and found logos of the new devices. Verizon won’t have a Galaxy S II variant, WSJ says, citing anonymous sources

The Wall Street Journal — citing the ever-popular “people familiar with the plans” — is reporting that Verizon won’t be introducing a variant of the Samsung Galaxy S II at next week’s event in New York City. That might or might not be an interesting shift from what everybody’s suspected — that just like the original Galaxy S roll-out last year, we’ll see variants on all four major U.S. carriers.

Apple Gets Samsung Galaxy Tab Blocked in Most of the European Union

In what can only be regarded as a major victory for Apple on the world stage, German news agency DPA is reporting that Apple has been granted a preliminary injunction against Samsung’s Android-based Galaxy Tab 10.1. As a result, the tablet is effectively barred from distribution across all of the European Union, sans the Netherlands (for now, at least).

Apple vs. Samsung IP Smackdown: Court Grants EU Galaxy Injunction

It looks like Apple may have won round two in the global fight against Samsung in the tablet turf wars.

German news agency DPA just reported that Apple has been granted a preliminary injunction against Samsung’s Android-based Galaxy Tab 10.1.
