Is a Samsung Galaxy S II Plus really in the works? And is it really needed?


Yesterday we learned that the Samsung Galaxy S III would be unveiled at separate Samsung-hosted event in the first half of the year, but the company is still looking forward to “introducing and demonstrating exciting new mobile products” at Mobile World Congress 2012. According to Anton Nagy of PocketNow, one of those products could be the Samsung Galaxy S II Plus.

German court rejects Apple bid to ban sales of Galaxy Tab 10.1N, Galaxy Nexus

The Munich Regional Court in Germany has rejected Apple’s latest attempt to block sales of two Android-powered Samsung devices, namely the Galaxy Tab 10.1N and Galaxy Nexus.

Samsung releases AT&T Galaxy Note kernel source code

The device itself won’t be available for another couple of weeks or so, but Samsung has wasted no time in releasing the Linux kernel source (and other open-source bits and pieces) for the AT&T Galaxy Note. The AT&T Note (aka SGH-I717) sports a slightly different hardware setup to its international counterpart, the GT-N7000, hence the difference in behind-the-scenes code. Samsung Galaxy Note headed to Bell Mobility in Canada

We already know that the 4G LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy Note will be headed to TELUS and Rogers next month, but now we have confirmation that it’s landing on Bell Mobility Canada too. The 5.3-inch monster phone, already released internationally and coming to AT&T in the U.S. in February, appears alongside a “coming soon” message on the carrier’s official website.

We knew Samsung was reviewing their options for the Galaxy S III launch, and now it appears the company will skip Mobile World Congress in favor of hosting their own special launch event.
