Moto Z3 Play arrives with glass body, 18:9 display and free Battery Mod

Motorola today unveiled the new Moto Z3 Play, the first model to arrive from the new Z3 series. The new mid-range smartphone is a successor to last year’s Z2 Play model, which was quite well received by consumers.

While the Z2 Play was a pretty good-looking device, the Z3 Play makes the jump into trendy territory. It repudiates the chunky bezels and instead opts for a so-called bezel-less design and a modern 18:9 aspect ratio. Due to the changes, Motorola  [Read More…]

Metal vs. plastic vs. glass: Which is the best phone material?

Three impossible choices.

Phones all look the same once you scrape away a few details. They’re rectangles designed to fit (mostly) into one’s hand and a display where we can tap and poke the things we see to find other things poke and tap. You can even make phone calls with them!

It’s those details, though, that makes the difference. Speakers, bevels, buttons and the physical size are the things that make a Galaxy Note different from  [Read More…]

Hot off the heels of the G7 ThinQ, LG’s announced three new Android phones for 2018 that are targeted directly at the budget market – the LG Q7, Q7+, and Q7a. These are successors to LG’s Q6 series, and they keep with the trend of offering a premium design with mid-range specs at affordable prices.

First, let’s talk about what’s included with the phones no matter  [Read More…]

Why bother making a glass phone without wireless charging?

Without some kind of added benefit like wireless charging, what reason is there to use a fragile material like glass?

I don’t always have the most popular opinions on smartphone design; I’ve been arguing in favor of the display notch for some time now, and I firmly believe that every phone should have a quick switch for audio profiles like the OnePlus 5T and iPhone X. But one thing that everybody can seem to agree on is  [Read More…]

Best Tempered Glass Screen Protectors for Samsung Galaxy Tab S3

What’s the best screen protector for the Galaxy Tab S3?

If you’re going to bother getting a screen protector for your Galaxy Tab S3, then you’ll want to go with tempered glass. If it cracks or chips, it won’t turn into sharp, scratchy shards of death; it’ll become blunt bits, so your screen will stay pristine. That being said, tempered glass is very strong, so you’d be hard-pressed to mess it up without much force.
