Acer’s $349 Chromebook 514 has USB-C charging, Gorilla Glass trackpad

OPPO’s upcoming smartphone will be the first to feature Gorilla Glass 6

The OPPO F9 series will likely be the first to offer Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6.

Corning unveiled Gorilla Glass 6 last month, offering better protection against tumbles. Corning says Gorilla Glass 6 is able to withstand multiple drops — averaging up to 15 drops from one meter — without breaking, and it’s also touted to be more resistant to scratches when seen against Gorilla Glass 5.

Corning announces Gorilla Glass 6 to be stronger than ever

Corning makes the touchscreen glass for most smartphones around the world. Will cracked screens be a thing of the past?

Corning just unveiled its next-generation Gorilla Glass, developed specifically to be more resistant to drops and scratches. Corning says Gorilla Glass 6 is two times better than it’s predecessor at surviving drops from 1 meter. It also performed better from higher distances than Gorilla Glass 5.

Corning Gorilla Glass is now available for cars

Gorilla Glass – the specialized toughened glass produced by Corning to makes your smartphone and tablet’s display unbreakable – is expanding its reach. Corning’s Gorilla Glass SR+ is coming to a wearable near you

After launching Gorilla Glass 5 for smartphones earlier this year, Corning is now turning its attention to the wearable segment with Gorilla Glass SR+. Corning started developing a product under “Project Phire” last year, aiming to come up with a glass substrate that was as durable as Gorilla Glass 4 and as scratch resistant as sapphire, which is used in traditional luxury watches. Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 hopes to protect your phone from longer drops

Corning has revealed Gorilla Glass 5, the next version of the company’s smartphone display glass. Corning claims that phones with Gorilla Glass 5 will survive being dropped from up to 1.6 meters 80% of the time.

Previous versions of Gorilla Glass have been used in smartphones from Samsung, HTC, LG and other OEMs. According to The Verge:
