Sony ‘PlayStation 4.5’ rumored with upgraded graphics; will Microsoft follow suit?

Microsoft’s Xbox leader Phil Spencer recently hinted that the Xbox One might get hardware upgrades in the future. Now a new report claims that rival Sony is planning to release an updated version of its PlayStation 4 console, with more powerful graphics hardware.

NVIDIA SHIELD TV updated to Marshmallow, brings the new Vulkan graphics API

NVIDIA rolls out developer preview builds with support for Vulkan graphics API

NVIDIA has released preview builds for developers looking to take advantage of the Khronos’s new graphics API, Vulkan. The low-level API is the successor to OpenGL, giving developers a unified cross-platform framework for high-performance 3D graphics that works on Android, Tizen, SteamOS, Ubuntu, and Windows (going all the way back to WIndows XP).

U.S. judge says NVIDIA violated Samsung graphics chip patents

A U.S. International Trade Commission judge has ruled in favor of Samsung, saying that some of the company’s patents had been infringed upon by NVIDIA. The case concerns three Samsung patents revolving around how graphics processors are made, which Samsung claims NVIDIA violated when making its own processors.

The 7th Guest is revamped with new graphics and features for its Android debut

The 7th Guest, the classic supernatural adventure game, is making its Android debut in a “remastered” edition with lots of new features and improved graphics.

The game was first released by developer Trilobyte back in 1993 for the PC exclusively on CD-ROMs, and was a massive hit at the time. In fact, it helped to boost the use of CD-ROM drives (remember those?) overall in PCs.
