Richard Yu blames supply chain issues for slower memory in some P10s, and static electricity for smudgy screens.
Storage speed in phones often isn’t heavily promoted, even in flagship handsets, but it’s something which can affect how fast a device feels. As Engadget’s Richard Lai reports, some Chinese Huawei P10 owners noticed slower flash memory performance in their devices — speeds in line with the older eMMC 5.1 spec, not the newer UFS 2.0/2.1. Unlucky devices with [Read More…]
Suffering boot loops and severe battery drain? A lawsuit filed in Texas alleges the same, and that Google and Huawei have offered little help on the matter.
The Nexus 6P battery drain and boot looping issues have happened to so many people — my husband and myself, included —that there’s now a lawsuit filed against Google and Huawei over the device’s numerous issues.
According to a press release from the firm behind the lawsuit, Chimicles & Tikellis, the complaint [Read More…]
The wait is over, the highly anticipated Huawei Watch 2 is now available to purchase in the United States. As of April 18, you are able to get your hands on the device by taking yourself down to your nearest Best Buy store or for the more digitally inclined of us : Walmart – Target – […]
Is that enough incentive for you to buy the second-gen smartwatch? You’ll have to read our review to find out.
We weren’t too impressed by the Huawei Watch 2 in our initial review, but perhaps the ten weeks of free Google Play Music could entice you to give it a try, anyway. The Android Wear 2.0-based smartwatch is now available for purchase at various retailers around the U.S., including BestBuy and Amazon.
The Huawei Watch 2 is [Read More…]
Y’all want a contest? We’ve got a contest.
It’s time for Modern Dad to give away his first smartphone, and we’re going to start with one of the more interesting ones of 2017. The Huawei P series isn’t all that well known in the United States, but worldwide, it’s made quite a name for itself. It’s a powerful smartphone that has the added bonus of not being huge. It’s got a very capable camera system — two, in fact, with [Read More…]
As a site that centers around Android, we often find ourselves gravitating toward certain things. Be it specific hardware makers, developers, or something else, there’s usually something that each of us prefers. But, try as we might, our tastes change and we end up interested in the next shiny new thing. Sometimes we put aside […]
Sales up 36% from Mate 8, manufacturer says.
Huawei’s big-screened Mate 9 was well received by critics, with overhauled software, a gigantic battery and a new dual-camera system. And it looks like the company’s best “phablet” yet has apparently translated that into strong sales. Gizchina reports that at a Chinese press conference, Huawei noted that 5 million Mate 9s had been sold in the first four months of availability, up 36% from its predecessor, the Mate 8, [Read More…]
Bad news for those looking forward to mobile payments on the original Huawei Watch.
I loved the Huawei Watch. It was sleek, it was sexy, it had a battery that went for days… but it doesn’t have NFC. We can’t change that, much as we wanted to after we saw the headscratchers that were the Huawei Watch 2 and the Huawei Watch 2 Classic.
Although a Huawei representative confirmed to Ausdroid that the watch does have a [Read More…]
If there’s one thing we like about unlocked smartphones and lesser-known names, it’s that they can often deliver more bang for the buck. Often we find that upstart or newer brands like to challenge bigger names by forcing them to put out a better product at lower prices. Such is the case with Ulefone and […]
Huawei’s latest flagship phone is available to pre-order in the UK!
The P10 is Huawei’s best mainstream flagship yet, available in 5.1- and 5.5-inch flavors. (Check out our review for more on what’s great — and not so great — about the phones.) The street date for all P10 models [Read More…]
