Samsung’s Exynos processors to power Audi’s next-gen infotainment systems

You want high-end processors in everything, even your car.

Samsung doesn’t use its own Exynos processors in all of its phones and tablets, but it has struck a deal with Audi to start using its chips in its cars to power its next-generation infotainment systems. The announcement states that Samsung will be providing its “flagship” processors, which bodes well for the performance of in-dash applications.

Virgin Airlines debuts new Android based infotainment system

Virgin has debuted their new Red® entertainment system based on Android. Flyers will be able to order food and drinks, enjoy music, movies, Tv shows, and games, chat with other passengers, and even order a fellow traveler a drink, all on demand. They have also teamed up with California based company Dysonics, making Virgin the first airline to bring surround sound technology to the skies.

GM plans to compete against Android Auto with Android infotainment system

In addition to being a partner to Google’s Android Auto, General Motors is planning on launching a full-fledged Android infotainment system sometime in 2016. The automaker has partnered with Harman International as part of a $ 900 million deal that would bring some skinned version of Google’s Android operating system to the dash of vehicles in General Motors’ fleet.
