U.S. Cellular recently began offering a rugged Android smartphone in the form of the Kyocera Duraforce. Powered by rather recent version of Android (4.4.2 KitKat), the handset packs a 4.5-inch 720p display, 16GB internal storage, and an 8-megapixel rear camera. AT&T to offer rugged Kyocera DuraForce on November 7


It’s a busy week for AT&T as the carrier announces multiple smartphones, smartwatches, and even rate plans slated to arrive over the coming days. Joining the HTC Desire Eye and Re Camera on November 7 is the rugged and waterproof Kyocera DuraForce.

Kyocera DuraForce to be sold by AT&T starting Nov. 7 for $49.99 with two year contract

AT&T will begin selling the new and rugged Kyocera DuraForce smartphone on November 7 on its website and November 21 in its retail stores. The phone will be priced at $ 49.99 with a two year contract or for 389.99 without a contract.

Kyocera Hydro Life for T-mobile available at Wal-Mart August 8th

Kyocera has announced today that their IP57 certified waterproof, shock-proof, and drop-proof phone, Hydro Life, will be available at Wal-Mart for T-Mobile customers on August 8th. The device will sell for just $ 124.99 (plus fees) and MetroPCS will also launch the Hydro Life on August 29.

Kyocera testing sapphire crystal-covered displays for future phones

Kyocera is in reportedly in late stages of development with sapphire crystal-covered smartphone displays, which could give its well-known rugged phones even more toughness in the future. According to a newly leaked Kyocera testing video on YouTube that’s being corroborated by CNET, Kyocera is producing sapphire crystal display coverings in smartphone sizes and testing them up against traditional impact-resistant glass found in current smartphones.
