We all really love unfounded rumors about things, right? (OK, not all of us.)  Well, Fastcompany seems to believe that Instagram, the ever-popular photo application for iOS devices, could actually land on Windows Phone before Android, eventhough Instagram has already confirmed that they are working on the Android application. Android just got a new friend in the open-source playground. HP today announced that the beloved-but-floundering mobile operating system will released to the open-source community.

“HP plans to continue to be active in the development and suppport of webOS,” the company said. Like the core Android OS, webOS will be made available under an open-source license.

Well there you have it, ladies and gentlemen. AT&T announced this morning that the HTC Jetstream will be the first 4G LTE tablet on their network. The Android 3.1 Honeycomb tablet will be available in stores and online starting September 4th.
