Apex Launcher updated for the first time in a year, and users are unhappy

Back in the day, the three biggest launcher choices were Launcher Pro, Apex Launcher, and Nova Launcher. Those were the days where we would extensively modify our phones and Android was ugly and lacked features. Good times.

Action Launcher v37 adds powerful ‘desktop shortcuts’ and Android P UI

Google Pixel Launcher will soon let you manually toggle its dark/light theme

The feature will be added in a “future Android build.”

Sony says it’s stopping development of its Xperia Home launcher

Only bug fixes will be added from here on out.

Most Android OEMs outfit their phones with their own skin on top of Android, and with that, a custom launcher. Sony’s phones have long come with the Xperia Home launcher, and following the latest update that landed on June 11, development for it will be ending.
