California Senate passes a vote to bring net neutrality laws to the state

There’s even a rule that’s stricter than what the FCC previously had in place.

Although the FCC’s repeal of Net Neutrality is set to go into effect on June 11, that hasn’t stopped other government officials from doing what they can to ensure the internet remains free and open for everyone.

Canada’s new drone laws make flying in urban areas virtually impossible

Qualcomm hit with $853 million fine in South Korea for violating antitrust laws

Qualcomm could end up paying a hefty fine in Korea and amend its business practices.

Qualcomm has been fined a record 1.03 trillion won ($ 853 million) by South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) over antitrust violations. The regulator said that Qualcomm’s “unnecessarily broad patent licensing requirements” resulted in phone makers paying more royalties than required for its modem chips.

Google employee sues company for ‘illegal’ confidentiality policies that violate labor laws

Google’s motto is ‘don’t be evil.’ Google’s illegal confidentiality agreements and policies fail this test.

A Google product manager has accused the company of violating California labor laws via its restrictive confidentiality policies. According to The Information, the employee filed a suit with the California Superior Court in San Francisco, alleging that Google is running an internal “spying program” that encourages employees to report co-workers suspected of leaking information to the media.
