Amazon’s Moto G4 with lock screen ads has a locked bootloader

Amazon is selling a variant of the Moto G4 exclusively for Prime members for $ 149, a discount of $ 50 on the phone’s retail price. The caveat is that the phone comes loaded with lock screen ads delivered by Amazon, and according to a Motorola support document, a locked bootloader.

From Motorola:

Bootloader unlock codes are not available from Moto or Amazon for the Prime Exclusive Moto G (4th Gen.) devices.

Philips decides to allow third-party bulbs again, reverses software upgrade that locked them out

Philips recently pushed out an upgrade for its Hue lighting system that locked out the ability for customers to use third-party bulbs, and people were outraged. After receiving tons of complaints, Philips has decided to reverse the upgrade, and bring back support for bulbs from other brands. That’s right, if you have non-Philips bulbs in your Hue system, they will work again as they did prior to the update.

ASUS Transformer Prime bootloader locked up tight
