LG posts Q2 profit in spite of $132 million loss from the mobile unit

LG has announced its Q2 2016 earnings, recording an operating profit of $ 503.1 million (584.6 billion won) over revenues of $ 12.05 billion (14 trillion won). Strong sales of home appliances and TVs offset the mobile unit’s operating loss of $ 132 million.

Sprint reports higher post-paid subscriber additions but still hit with net loss

Sprint has reported its latest financial numbers for the first quarter of fiscal year 2016. While the wireless carrier stated it had the highest post-paid subscriber additions for the quarter in nine years, it still had a net loss of $ 302 million, which was bigger than the $ 20 million it lost from the same period a year ago. The company recorded operating revenues of $ 8 billion during the quarter.

LG reporting big loss in Q2 2016 for its mobile division

LG is doing well overall, which is expected as the company makes just about anything you could imagine. In fact, its earnings are at a two-year high. But the mobile division is bleeding money, as the business has reported an $ 82 million loss in Q2 2016.

The LG G5 isn’t as popular as LG hoped it would be, selling only 2.2 million units. I guess a modular feature with only a few accessories that requires removal of the battery isn’t taking off.

HTC records revenue of $660 million, net loss of $139 million in Q3 2015

HTC has announced its Q3 2015 earnings, which unfortunately don’t look too pretty for the company. The Taiwanese manufacturer recorded a revenue of NT$ 21.4 billion ($ 660 million), which is nearly half of its NT$ 41.9 billion ($ 1.3 billion) from the same quarter in 2014. LG posts Q3 2015 financial report, shows a staggering loss of $68 million on mobile

LG‘s mobile division made a staggering loss of $ 68 million in the last three months, according to figures released in the company’s financial report for Q3 2015. It’s a blow to the division at the popular manufacturer who brought in profit of just $ 172,000 back in in Q2.

Sprint starts drawing customers back, but makes a loss of $20 million

Sprint has released its financial report for the first fiscal quarter, posting a net positive in subscriber addition, as well as hitting the lowest churn rate in the company’s history. While Sprint has managed to start turning things around, it’s unfortunately not enough to compete against T-Mobile.
