Samsung just opened the world’s largest phone manufacturing plant

The factory is capable of producing 120 million phones each year.

In Noida, India, Samsung formally opened up a brand-new smartphone manufacturing plant on Monday, July 9. According to Samsung, it’s the largest phone factory on the planet.

The factory will be used to produce both flagship smartphones and budget ones that cost under $ 100, and during a single year, Samsung says it’ll be able to produce up to 120 million handsets.

OnePlus will start manufacturing the OnePlus 3T in India to meet growing demand

Local manufacturing will kick off early next quarter.

OnePlus has announced that it will manufacture phones locally in India, and today we’re hearing more about the company’s plans. In an interview with Reuters, OnePlus India general manager Vikas Agarwal revealed that local manufacturing for the OnePlus 3T will kick off early next quarter.

LeEco will set up manufacturing and research units in India

Chinese vendor LeEco has announced plans of setting up a manufacturing and research units in India. The manufacturer will leverage the government’s “Make in India initiative, which incentivises local production of hardware.

LeEco’s vice chairman and co-founder Liu Hong told Indo-Asian News Service that the vendor is currently evaluating different options for its facility:

Moto X Force coming soon to India as Lenovo commits to local manufacturing

Lenovo is the latest manufacturer to signify its interest in making devices locally in India. Dubbed “Make in India,” the initiative is heralded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to facilitate foreign brands to locally manufacture electronics. Google to increase manufacturing of self-driving car prototypes

Google is evidently expanding its manufacturing efforts for its prototype autonomous cars, planning to build “a few hundred” of the vehicles this year, as opposed to the 100 that were originally proposed.
