Virgin Mobile announces the LG Optimus Slider, coming Oct. 17 for $199

Following up on their rather successful LG Optimus V, Virgin Mobile has announced it will be bringing a full QWERTY slider, the LG Optimus Slider to customers starting Oct. 17 on their website, and Oct. 31 in retail locations. Isis NFC mobile payment group gets backing from handset manufacturers

Isis, a joint venture of Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, has announced that the major hardware makers of Android  (and Windows 7) phones have climbed on board and will offer hardware that implements Isis’ NFC tech and standards.  The press release names LG, Motorola, HTC, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and BlackBerry manufacturer RIM as hardware partners, as well as DeviceFidelity to offer solutions such as NFC enabled memory cards for phones built without NFC hardware.   [Read More…]

Here’s our first look at the major update to Google+ for Android 2.3 and above — and it’s a doozy. Mobile Hangouts are seamless and awesome, though you can only join a Hangout — not initiate one.
