Google Play had 145% more app installs than Apple App Store in Q4 2017

More than 19 billion new apps were installed from Google Play in Q4 2017.

Apps are an essential component of any smartphone, and while this is an area that iOS was previously king of, that’s definitely no longer the case. The Google Play Store has grown and matured a lot over the past couple years, and Q4 of 2017 was its best quarter yet.

Samsung Pay updated with a cleaner and more traditional UI

The bottom navigation bar strikes again.

During my short stint with the Galaxy S8 last year, one of my favorite features was easily Samsung Pay. Between MST support and reward points for making regular purchases, it’s definitely my prefered mobile payment service of choice. Lead Google Duo engineer teases group calls, web app, and more

Group calls in Duo might finally be a thing.

Although it still isn’t quite as popular as Apple FaceTime, Google Duo has quickly become one of the best video/audio calling apps around.
