Moto Z line doesn’t mean the end of Moto X, says Motorola

When the new Moto Z and Moto Z Force were revealed, there was some palpable concern that the line would be a replacement (or renaming) for the Moto X line — but that apparently isn’t the case. According to a statement from Motorola, the Moto X brand “is alive and well.”

Motorola may be stepping into the modular phone game with the Moto X this year

According to a new report, Motorola’s rumored upcoming Moto X may follow in the footsteps of the LG G5 and go modular. Former Motorola leader Rick Osterloh heads back to Google to lead hardware projects

Former Motorola president Rick Osterloh has returned to Google. Osterloh will be in charge of Google’s hardware teams, including Nexus, Chromecast and Google Glass.

Re/code reports:

A Google rep confirmed that Osterloh has joined the company as its newest Senior Vice President, running the new hardware product line and reporting to CEO Sundar Pichai.
