Google has named Dianne Greene to its Board of Directors and Audit committee as of January 12. Greene co-founded VMware in 1998 and served as CEO and president until 2008. She also serves on the board of Intuit since 2006. Eric Schmidt, executive chairman of Google, had the following to say about the appointment:
