ARM’s Cortex-A75 and A55 cores are ready to power next-gen phones

ARM’s latest processors are built for machine learning and artificial intelligence.

ARM has unveiled its next-generation CPU cores, the Cortex-75 and the Cortex-A55. The Cortex-A75 will be aimed at the premium segment while the Cortex-A55 core will cater to the mid-range category.

Samsung’s Exynos processors to power Audi’s next-gen infotainment systems

You want high-end processors in everything, even your car.

Samsung doesn’t use its own Exynos processors in all of its phones and tablets, but it has struck a deal with Audi to start using its chips in its cars to power its next-generation infotainment systems. Next-gen fingerprint sensors will live under the glass

Optical fingerprint sensors could be the future.

Next-generation fingerprint sensors won’t be tied to specific buttons, nor will they require cutouts that take up precious space on the phone. Companies like Synaptics now have fingerprint sensor solutions that can be embedded under a phone or tablet’s display glass, “capable of high-resolution scanning through 1mm of full cover glass and enables clean, button-free industrial designs,” the company said in a press release.
