Xiaomi teases Android One-based Mi A2 ahead of official unveil

Xiaomi’s 2018 Android One device will be unveiled on July 24 in Madrid.

Huawei’s TalkBand B5 wearable/Bluetooth headset is now official

Update: Today, Huawei officially unveiled the TalkBand B5. Aside from doubling as a pop-up Bluetooth headset, the wearable also offers a few fitness options. Like the ability to track activities such as running, walking and cycling and perform 24-hour heart rate monitoring (thanks to its heart rate monitor).

What’s more, since the TalkBand B4 is IP67-certified, the device can be worn during other types of workouts such as swimming.

Samsung will make the Galaxy Note 9 official on August 9th

In a rather surprising move, Samsung has started rolling out invitations for an Unpacked event on August 9th. The reason for the surprise is because this is likely the launch event for the Galaxy Note 9.

Previous iterations were also unveiled in August, but none were revealed this early.

Microsoft News now official, rolling out to everyone on iOS and Android

Meet the refreshed platform powering all of Microsoft’s news services across devices.

Microsoft today unveiled its latest news venture, appropriately under the banner of Microsoft News. The refreshed platform, Microsoft says, will power all of its news content across its news apps on Android and iOS, as well as MSN on the web and the News app on Windows 10.

Google Podcasts app is official and now available in the Play Store

In the past months, we’ve seen Google do much development in the background dealing with podcasts. The company has been updating the UI and functionality of podcasts that you can find in Search. Now they have released the official app for podcasts, so you don’t have to do the roundabout “add to home screen” method.

Lawnchair Launcher gets official v1.0 release, v2.0 beta coming soon

One of the most popular Pixel Launcher launchers is growing up.

Google just removed the ‘Tablets’ section from the official Android site

In case you didn’t already know that Android tablets were dead.

Android tablets have always been interesting beasts. Companies like Motorola and Samsung tried making them popular with the Xoom and Galaxy Tabs early on, and Google soon swooped in with home runs such as the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. However, due to lacking developer support and no proper optimizations for the OS on the big screen, Android tablets never caught on the way the iPad did.
