OnePlus 5T officially updated with iPhone X-like navigation gestures

Both the OnePlus 5 and 5T are also being updated to Android 8.1 Oreo.

At the tail-end of January, OnePlus introduced a new gesture-based navigation system for the OnePlus 5T with its OxygenOS Open Beta program. The setup very closely resembled the gestures found on the iPhone X, and now with the OxygenOS 5.1.0 public update that’s rolling out, all users of the 5T are will gain access to it.

Snapchat officially brings Group Video Chat to the masses

Snapchat has introduced a new Group Video Chat feature which will allow you to chat with up to 16 of your friends at once. The feature is starting to roll out today.

OnePlus officially teases the upcoming OnePlus 6

This pretty much confirms the name, too.

We’ve been talking about OnePlus 6 rumors for a few weeks, and now that we’re at the point where we know most all of what to expect from the device, OnePlus has decided to begin teasing its release.

Google officially introduces Files Go

After a lengthy beta, Files Go is going official. Google is dropping the beta tag from the file manager and adding some nifty new features. Click here to find out what they are.

Wear OS by Google officially replaces Android Wear

In addition to the name change, Google says new features are also coming soon.

Just a few days after new branding for Android Wear was discovered with Play Services, Google’s announced that it’s officially axing the Android Wear name in favor of Wear OS.

Android P will officially be released during Q3 2018

The beta will come out in early May.

After plenty of speculation, Android P is finally here – well, sort of. The first developer preview was officially released on March 7, 2018, and while it’s still incredibly buggy and unstable, gives us an early look at what we can expect for the software’s final release. Thanks to a timeline that was recently shared on the Android Developers site, we now have a better idea as to when that’ll happen.

Lava Red OnePlus 5T is officially sold out in North America

Now a collector’s item.

The 5T is OnePlus’s best-looking phone to-date, and limited edition colors like Sandstone White and Lava Red have helped to spruce it up way more than its standard Midnight Black option. The Lava Red OnePlus 5T originally went on sale in North America on February 6, and a little over two weeks later, it’s officially sold out.

Swype Keyboard is officially being discontinued

Time to move to Gboard.

Like a lot of my fellow Android users, I often used to jump back and forth between keyboard apps on my phone. I’ve dabbled with just about every popular option out there, but today the Play Store is losing one of its long-standing champs as development for Swype Keyboard has officially ended.

Nest officially merges with Google’s hardware division

Right back where we started.

Following a report from last November, Nest CEO Marwan Fawaz announced on February 7, 2018, that Nest and Google’s hardware team are merging together in an attempt to create even better smart home products.

Google has officially completed its $1.1 billion HTC deal

All the pieces are in place to make the Pixel 3 as awesome as possible.

A few days before Google unveiled the Pixel 2 at its October hardware event, it was announced that the company would be spending $ 1.1 billion to acquire around 2,000 HTC employees to beef up its hardware division. A little over four months since this deal was announced, Google’s confirmed that it’s been completed.
