BlackBerry opens research center to improve QNX-powered autonomous vehicles

BlackBerry moves even further into software.

Earlier this year, BlackBerry announced that it was shifting research and development for its QNX platform, which powers the infotainment systems in millions of cars around the world, to include autonomous vehicles. Samsung opens up Galaxy S7 Nougat beta program to more users

A second chance to test Nougat on the GS7.

It appears Samsung has opened up the Galaxy Beta program to more users in Europe, following the initial rollout earlier this month. This gives Galaxy S7 and S7 edge owners a second change to try pre-release versions of Nougat for the phones, after the first wave of places were quickly snapped up.

Sonos opens its platform to Spotify Connect and Amazon’s Alexa

Your Sonos hardware is about to become a lot more useful.

Google opens dedicated machine learning research center in Europe

Google has opened a new Machine Learning research group in Europe. Based at its Zurich offices, Google Research in Europe will be able to further develop ideas and projects released to AI and the like. The Zurich office is already responsible for Google tech like Knowledge Graph, as well as the conversation engine powering the assistant in Allo.

Intel opens pre-orders for RealSense smartphone dev kit with Google’s Project Tango

Intel is moving forward with its plans to place a version of its RealSense 3D camera inside an Android smartphone. As part of its CES 2016 announcements, the company has begun taking pre-orders for its RealSense Smartphone Developer Kit. The 6-inch smartphone, which also supports Google’s Project Tango 3D scanning camera technology, is priced at $ 399.

Fallout Shelter developer Bethesda Game Studios opens new Montreal office
