Moto Z2 Force with ShatterShield tech, 6GB RAM, and Oreo lands in India for ₹34,999

The Moto Z2 Force has a lot going for it, but a 16:9 display in 2018 is a non-starter.

Samsung cancels Oreo update for Galaxy S8, new version in the works

The waiting game continues.

On February 8, Samsung confirmed that Android Oreo was finally being released for the Galaxy S8/S8+. This came as exciting news for owners of the two phones, but just less than a week after the update’s been out in the wild, Samsung’s announced that it’s pulling the plug on it.

Essential Phone gets 8.1 Oreo beta with fix for jittery scrolling

Available as an OTA update for previous beta testers.

The Essential Phone‘s received a heap of updates since its release, and following up on its word, Essential is now releasing the Android 8.1 Oreo update in the form of a beta. Previous beta testers for 8.0 Oreo will get an over-the-air update to 8.1, and if you’re not currently enrolled, Essential will add a link to sideload the new software on its website.

Oreo update for Galaxy S8 does not support Project Treble

This still isn’t a big deal.

After months of being stuck in beta, Android Oreo for the Galaxy S8/S8+ is officially rolling out as a public release. Oreo adds a lot of welcome features to the S8, such as better performance, picture-in-picture, Google’s Autofill API, and more, but one thing you won’t find is support for Project Treble.
