EE Kestrel 4G phone now available, £99 on PAYG

British operator EE’s budget-centric “Kestrel” handset is now available on contract and Pay As You Go through the carrier’s online and brick-and-mortar stores. Contract prices start at £13.99 per month, and on PAYG it costs just £99. Built by Huawei and heavily branded by EE, the Kestrel features a 4.5-inch qHD (960×540) display, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core CPU, a 5-megapixel camera and 8GB of storage.

OnePlus One phone available to the masses this June

OnePlus, a subsidy of Chinese phone maker Oppo, has published a statement that the highly anticipated One unlocked phone will become generally available to the public this June. In the oneplus.net forums, OnePlus has stated:

“When we started OnePlus, one of the first things we announced was that our product would be available internationally in Q2 2014. We’re well on track of achieving that….”,

New Motorola phone to be announced May 13


Adding to previous snippets of an upcoming entry-level Moto phone, Motorola has sent out invites to announce a new phone that promises it’s “made to last” and “priced for all”. The announcement will take place in London on May 13; the common belief is that is going to the be rumored Moto E. We will find out for sure in two weeks!

A dormant Google Glass will finally quit usurping your phone calls

A few more updates are on their way for Google Glass — and one in particular we’re pretty stoked to see.

First up is a change to backing up images — it’ll only automatically do it when you’re plugged in and on Wifi. You’ll also be able to force a backup, though. You’ll also be able to clear photos and videos out of your timeline, which is good if you’ve taken a whole bunch.

Samsung Mobile Instagram teaser all but confirms the Galaxy K camera phone

Samsung Mobile has posted an Instagram video to its account that pretty much confirms the new camera focused phone that we’re expecting to be known as the Galaxy K. Also previously referred to as the Galaxy S5 Zoom, Samsung is hosting an event tomorrow, April 29, in Singapore and the video clip below is the clearest indicator yet that optical zoom is the thing.

Samsung’s alleged Galaxy K camera phone leaks out again

Ahead of Samsung’s K-themed event in Asia, more images of the Korean manufacturers next camera focused smartphone have leaked out. Previously referred to as the Galaxy S5 Zoom, the new moniker is reportedly the Galaxy K – which would tie in nicely to the forthcoming event – and it has that distinctive optical zoom lens on the back.

Frontback comes to Android, lets you take photos with both sides of your phone

A popular photography app called Frontback just found its way from iOS to Android today. Though it’s fundamentally another photo-sharing app, it’s got the resonably fun gimmick of shooting from both the front and back camera at the same time. Samsung event in Singapore on April 29, massive hints of photography focused phone

Samsung has publicly announced a media event in Singapore on April 29 with a definite photography feel to it. There’s also a giant K, and the use of the letter in “Kapture the moment” hinting that this letter is of importance. Possible name? Who knows, but this could well be the introduction of the previously leaked ‘Galaxy S5 Zoom.’
