Google Pixel 3 XL to boast a notch when it debuts in October

Not too long ago we got a look at what was rumored to be a pair of screen protectors for the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, with the latter showing off a very distinct notch at the top of the screen.

Well, Bloomberg is here with a report on Wednesday that essentially confirms some oft-rumored expectations for Google’s upcoming flagship smartphones, including the aforementioned notch. The report indicates that Google’s notch won’t be as wide as the notch  [Read More…]

What do you think about a notch on the Pixel 3 XL?

It’s (maybe) coming.

Earlier this week, a leaked picture made its way around the web showing panels for the front of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

The panel for the regular Pixel 3 shows an 18:9 ratio with much slimmer bezels compared to the Pixel 2, and with the Pixel 3 XL, we’ve got that infamous notch.

We can’t confirm how legit/fabricated this leak is, but a notch on the Pixel 3 XL isn’t unlikely  [Read More…]

A sleek design, new processor, GPS, oh my!

This October, we’re anticipating that Google will follow its footsteps of the past two years with an event to announce its latest and greatest hardware products. We’ve seen Pixel phones, Home speakers, wireless earbuds and more, and this time around, we’re expecting the company to finally dive into the world of smartwatches.

A rumor popped up in early May suggesting that Google will announce a Pixel Watch alongside the  [Read More…]

Google Pixel Buds review: Wireless, but still encumbered

Are these Buds for you?

Google’s Pixel Buds headphones were launched alongside the Pixel 2 and a whole bunch of other products back at the end of 2017, and they have easily been the worst-received and least-hyped Google hardware product since. (Though Google Clips may disagree.) With the Pixel 2 lacking a headphone jack it only made sense for Google to make its own Bluetooth headphones — but it also added a bunch of advanced features with  [Read More…]

How does the OnePlus 6’s camera compare to the Pixel 2?

For the price, the OnePlus 6 does a fine job.

There’s currently a lot of buzz surrounding the OnePlus 6, and rightly so. The phone offers some of the best value for your money that you can find right now in the smartphone space, but as the saying goes, “something’s got to give.”

The camera department is one that OnePlus has often struggled with, and on the flip side, Google currently dominates this area with the Pixel  [Read More…]

OnePlus 6 vs. Google Pixel 2 XL: Which should you buy?

The Pixel 2 XL is better than the OnePlus 6 but doesn’t offer the same value. Which one is better?

Six months after its launch, the Pixel 2 XL continues to be one of the best phones available today. Its camera holds up to the best that Huawei and Samsung have to offer, and the software experience is unmatched.

OnePlus, meanwhile, has made a habit out of undercutting traditional flagships by several hundred dollars, and the same  [Read More…]

It’s also easier to switch between paired devices.

Google’s Pixel Buds may not be as elegant or seamless as AirPods, but they’re a solid first attempt and have us excited for what we’ll see with version two later this year. Before that, however, Google’s updating the current model with three highly-requested features that are rolling out to users now.

The first new addition is the ability to manually turn Pixel Buds on/off with a triple tap on  [Read More…]

Could Android P’s beta expansion lead to more phones with ‘Pixel’ Android?

I’d love to see an even longer list of supported devices with Android P’s official release.

Remember a few years back, when certain phone manufacturers participated in this little thing called the Google Play Edition program? If you loved the hardware on phones like the Galaxy S4 or the HTC One but couldn’t stand the customized software, this was a perfect solution — Google Play Edition phones came with stock Android software, give or take a few minor  [Read More…]

We’ll also see a second-gen version of Pixel Buds.

Just like the past two years, we’re expecting Google to host a press event this fall to talk about its latest and greatest hardware. We’re already expecting to see a Pixel 3 this year, but a new report suggests we’ll get a couple of other welcome announcements alongside it.

The LG Watch Sport.

According to Evan Blass, Google will also use its hardware event to announce a  [Read More…]
