Spread the cost of your Prime membership over 12 months.

Amazon Canada has today introduced a monthly membership option for its Prime services. Beforehand, those wanting Amazon Prime above the border would have to pay the $ 79 annual fee upfront to gain access to its benefits, but can now opt to pay $ 7.99 per month instead. Prime members in the U.S. have had the option to pay monthly since late 2016, with UK members also being able  [Read More…]

A new month is nearly upon us, and that means it’s time to take a look at what’s coming to some of your favorite streaming TV services. Three of them, in fact.

Samsung J3 2018 and Galaxy Express Prime 3 review

Samsung is most well known for their flagship phones such as the Note 9 and Galaxy S9. However, they also make many other phones including more affordable entry-level phones. The Samsung J3 2018 and Galaxy Express Prime 3 loaned to us courtesy of AT&T are prime examples of that.

While known by two different names these two phones are one and the same. They share the exact same design and specs, only differing in two areas which I’ll touch on at the  [Read More…]

Twitch Prime is dropping ad-free viewing in September

Twitch Prime’s list of perks is getting a little thinner starting next month.

Twitch Prime is a great way to earn a load of extra goodies if you consume a lot of content on the streaming service. Since launch, the company has given out free monthly channel subscriptions, free games, and in-game loot as part of the program. But there’s one perk that’s about to get the ax: ad-free viewing.

In an update posted to its blog  [Read More…]

New Amazon Prime Originals abound, including Pete the Cat and Shakespeare’s King Lear.

Summer’s just about over, but the fall TV schedule is just heating up. September sees the return of the NFL on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday nights, starting with the Minnesota Vikings at the L.A. Rams on Sept. 27. Earlier in the month, however, we’ll see a slew of Amazon Prime Originals, including the return of kid-favorite Pete the Cat, and the premiere of  [Read More…]

Do updates come to Amazon Prime Exclusive phones at the same time as other models?

The short answer: It depends.

No one could blame you for looking into Amazon’s Prime Exclusive range of phones. They’re the same phones you’ve probably been eyeing anyway, with a reduced price in exchange for putting up with a few pre-installed Amazon apps — don’t worry, the vast majority of them can be either uninstalled or disabled.

Aside from the bundled Amazon services, there’s no difference in the software experience of a Prime Exclusive phone compared to  [Read More…]

What’s new on Amazon Prime Video for August 2018

Bring on Jack Ryan, a Gringo, and more!

Finally, August is upon us. (Same time every year, but whatever. It’s been a long one.) And we’re particularly interested in this particular August for Amazon Prime Video for the following reason: Jack Ryan.

OK, we have to wail until the end of the month (because of course we do) to finally get our first taste of John Krasinski in the latest incarnation of the classic Tom Clancy character. And  [Read More…]

Amazon Prime Video finally will have Dolby Atmos content on Aug. 31

Whether you’re actually ready for it is another matter.

You soon will be able to watch Amazon Prime Video in 4K resolution and listen to it with Dolby Atmos. That may sound strange, given that the Amazon Fire TV 4K released in 2017 was Atmos-ready from the start. So, too, is the newer Fire TV Cube. But here’s the thing — Amazon didn’t actually have any content that supported Atmos.

That apparently will change starting with the new  [Read More…]
