Former Motorola leader Rick Osterloh heads back to Google to lead hardware projects

Former Motorola president Rick Osterloh has returned to Google. Osterloh will be in charge of Google’s hardware teams, including Nexus, Chromecast and Google Glass.

Re/code reports:

A Google rep confirmed that Osterloh has joined the company as its newest Senior Vice President, running the new hardware product line and reporting to CEO Sundar Pichai.

The head of Google’s Cardboard team is now in charge of all of its VR projects

Google is apparently getting more serious about entering the virtual reality market. A new report, which Google has confirmed, says that Clay Bavor, its vice-president for product management and leader of its apps team, will now be in charge of all of its virtual reality projects. Bavor was also the leader behing Google’s Cardboard VR viewer team.

Google donates to special needs education projects with every Android Pay purchase

Google has announced on the official Android Blog the company will be donating to special needs education projects with every Android Pay purchase. Teaming up with DonorsChoose.org, purchases made via the payment service will support 6.4 million children in the US education system who have special needs.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, HitRECord and LG to collaborate on series of upcoming projects
