Razer’s Project Linda is a Razer Phone-powered 13-inch laptop hybrid

The idea of using a phone to power a laptop isn’t entirely new; Motorola gave it a shot back in 2011 with the Laptop Dock for the Atrix 4G. But Razer‘s Project Linda might be another effort worth taking a look at.

Announced today during CES 2018 in Las Vegas, Razer unveiled its vision of a laptop/phone hybrid where the Razer Phone powers a 13.3-inch Razer-branded laptop. The Razer Phone goes right up front and is installed where the trackpad would normally  [Read More…]

Razer Phone is first to support HDR and Dolby Digital 5.1 on Netflix

Available soon with a future software update.

The Razer Phone‘s a pretty mixed bag, but without a doubt, two of its most rewarding features are its display and speaker combo. The 5.7-inch Quad HD LCD display is plenty sharp, and the industry-first 120Hz display is a joy to look at. On the audio side of things, the two front-facing stereo speakers are some of the best you can find on a phone right now.

Razer is no stranger to smartphones, having bought Nextbit earlier this year. Now reports are saying the company might be building a phone specifically for gamers.

The company already has mobile apps for its services like Cortex as well as a wearable device, so a phone isn’t a stretch. We don’t know if it would be under the Razer or Nextbit name, but the focus on gamers hints at the former.

The company is planning an IPO in Hong Kong around October,  [Read More…]

It will, however, commit to honoring warranties for the next six months, and releasing security updates until February 2018.
