Sprint replaces its current President and CFO with Michel Combes

There were seemingly endless rumors throughout 2017 about T-Mobile and Sprint finally following through with a merger that’d been talked about for years, but in early November, these were finally laid to rest. Walnut replaces rosewood as a custom back for Moto X

Well, that didn’t last all that long. Rosewood had been an option as a custom Moto X back for about two weeks now, but it appears to have been replaced by walnut. Bamboo, ebony and teak round out the other three options available at MotoMaker.com.

And that we just wrote any of those sentences seems a bit silly, but whatever. Wood phones are cool.

Samsung replaces head of mobile design

Reuters is reporting that Samsung’s head of mobile design, Chang Dong-hoon, has resigned following criticism over the design of the Galaxy S5. The phone’s textured plastic back, though an improvement on earlier Samsung designs, failed to impress some critics. Lee Min-hyouk, vice president for mobile design, will take over the role; Reuters reports that Chang will continue to head up the company’s design center, which oversees its broader design strategy.
